Tua Tagovailoa will not submit to the outside chatter. While the South Beach crowd believes that the Miami Dolphins quarterback should be in the mix for the MVP, football analysts think otherwise.
They prefer the receiver Tagovailoa throws to the most, Tyreek Hill. That’s a valid point, considering the All-Pro playmaker is having a season to remember with 1542 yards and 12 touchdowns. His aim of breaking the 2000-yard barrier will undeniably give him an edge over anyone from the Dolphins to be in the mix for the best football player of the season.

However, Tagovailoa is no slouch either. The 2020 first-round pick has thrown 3921 yards (#1) and 25 TDs in 2023. He proved that even without Hill, the Dolphins could count on him to deliver in the win over the New York Jets, completing 21/24 passes for 294 yards and a touchdown pass to Jaylen Waddle. Yet the narrative of him being carried by Hill is still a prevalent characteristic whenever the media evaluates their season.
Everyone wants to make this about me, about Tyreek—please keep pushing it to Tyreek. Make it about Tyreek. I understand that my platform and who I am in this league as a quarterback make me polarizing. Whether I'm the best or the worst, I couldn't care less. Tua Tagovailoa claims he is the worst football player
Every individual has their breaking point and is pushed into a corner, they will fire back. Tua did the same in the press conference. By the sound of it, he had enough of the media undermining his work ethic and dedication to the game. But they were not ready for the verbal retaliation from the Alabama graduate.

Tagovailoa stated he understands that he is as good as the players around him. Football is a team sport, and it’s a collective effort that makes the Miami Dolphins a team worthy of the 10-4 record.
I keep receipts, we all have a way of how we do things. All the narratives about it, sure, I am only good with Tyreek. We're able to win games, and we're able to go where we want to go as a team. I am the worst football player, if that's what you want. I don't care. So, whatever it is, whatever you need on your show, take clips out of what I just said.
Tua Tagovailoa may be correct from a player’s standpoint, but there’s also a side that he chose not to address in the interview. He only had four touchdown passes and two interceptions in the last four games and did not cross the 300-yard mark in that stretch.
