“Social media quarterback” – Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa gets hammered on Twitter for missing the Pro Bowl after a reassuring season

Tua Tagovailoa was selected as the No.5 overall pick by the Miami Dolphins in the 2020 NFL draft. He was selected 3 picks after Joe Burrow and one pick prior to Justin Herbert. The Dolphins QB often gets compared to Herbert because of their draft spot.
Tua is arguably playing the best football of his career so far in his third NFL season. He was leading all the quarterbacks in Pro Bowl voting by the NFL fans but he failed to convince the coaches and players. Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes, Bengals’ Joe Burrow, and Bills’ Josh Allen were the players who got ahead of the Dolphins QB to be named as the Pro Bowl quarterbacks from the AFC.
While it’s true that Tua might be having his best season so far, he is not having a better season than the three quarterbacks who got the Pro Bowl nod. Mahomes is a frontrunner for the NFL MVP honor, and both Josh Allen and Joe Burrow have more passing yards and touchdowns than the Dolphins quarterback.
Tua also missed 3 games due to injury which affected his statistics. It is also worth noting that all the other quarterbacks’ team are leading their division and have already clinched a playoff berth but the Dolphins are second in the division and has yet to confirm their playoff spot.
The former Alabama product simply lost to three better players at his position. If he had stayed healthy all season he might have put up better numbers than the other three QBs but durability is a part of the job. Tua is still young and has many Pro Bowl-type seasons to look forward to but this year he simply was not a top-three quarterback in the AFC.
Twitter reacts to Tua Tagovailoa pro bowl “snub”

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will not be going to the Pro Bowl this season despite receiving more Pro Bowls votes from fans than any other player in the league. Dolphins fans are not happy with this news. They believed more fan votes will get their quarterback a Pro Bowl nod. But fans of other teams are pointing towards the fact that Tua is not having a better season than the QBs who are named Pro Bowlers from the AFC.
Some Chargers fans took this opportunity to troll Tua as a “social media quarterback”. The term was coined by an ESPN analyst to troll Justin Herbert. Dolphins fans and Chargers fans have been going at each other ever since the teams took these two quarterbacks with back-to-back draft picks in 2020.
Tua won’t be interested in playing in Pro Bowl as he has already mentioned that he’s hoping to be playing in the big game. The Dolphins have three Pro Bowlers this year. They are – Offensive tackle Terron Armstead, wide receiver Tyreek Hill and cornerback Xavien Howard.
