It’s finally done. Aaron Rodgers is officially a New York Jet!

There were rumors of Aaron Rodgers joining the Jets, but it was confirmed by the quarterback himself on The Pat McAfee Show in February. The Jets brass flew down to California after they received permission from the Packers to talk with Rodgers.

The Jets camp was extremely elated when Rodgers gave a verbal commitment to come to play for them. While it all looked bleak as the negotiations were not moving forward, general managers of both teams wanted to get the deal done before the draft.

The 39-year-old wanted to be a part of the Jets’ offseason program and the Packers now have the required draft capital to surround Jordan Love with much-needed weapons on the offense. Both franchises now have a new route ahead of them, which will make it super exciting to follow their season in 2023.

The news of Aaron Rodgers’ trade was broken by NFL Insider Adam Schefter on live television on ESPN’s NFL Live. The panel had former Lions’ quarterback Dan Orlovsky, Mina Kimes, and Marcus Spears, and boy, were they shocked by the trade news!

Adam Schefter started out by saying that the Jets have completed the trade for Aaron Rodgers. However, the reactions came once he started to list out the compensation given by the Jets to the Packers. All these analysts had their mouths wide open in shock as Schefter revealed, “the Jets are sending their first-round pick this year, their second-round pick this year.”

The NFL Insider had to ask the crew to hold their horses as he completed reading out the remaining terms of the trade. Fans on social media were completely cringed by the reactions of the panel. They roasted the ESPN crew for being fake and called them clowns for their theatrics.

It’ll be interesting to see if Aaron Rodgers is able to be the savior the Jets are looking for or will he fall short of the role. The former first-round pick has the ability to take a take to the Super Bowl and win the Lombardi Trophy. Let’s just hope he is able to do that in 2023!
