Travis Kelce has undoubtedly been super impressive for the Kansas City Chiefs last season. He was an instrumental part of the team that went on to win the Super Bowl.

Kelce has now won his second Super Bowl ring and is surely one of the best tight ends in the NFL currently. However, calling him the greatest TE of all time is a bit far-fetched in the present times.

Nonetheless, Shannon Sharpe has never shied away from making a bold statement, and this time he did the same when he called Kelce as the greatest TE of all time.

This wasn’t the first time, the Undisputed host called him the greatest ever. Sharpe was recently invited on the New Heights podcast with Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce. There he couldn’t stop praising the younger Kelce brother.

“He’s better in the postseason compared to the regular season, what we call him is a big game player,” Shannon Sharpe stated on the New Heights podcast. “I don’t know how you make an argument that says Trav isn’t the greatest TE ever.”

Sharpe also praised the Chiefs TE for his work ethic and ‘showing up in each game’. According to the former Broncos TE, Travis Kelce is a different player in the playoffs and completely dominates the field with the help of his friend and teammate Patrick Mahomes. Although Sharpe firmly believes Kelce is the best, there are many who don’t agree with his assessment.

Travis Kelce is amongst the best TEs in the NFL currently. Still, calling him the greatest ever is an insult to many tight ends before him who’ve found much more success in their careers while having exceptional stats.

Former TE Rob Gronkowski is certainly that guy who can challenge anyone for the top spot for the greatest TE of all time. The Gronks won 4 Super Bowl rings during his time with the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Not only that, but he also had exceptional stats in each of those seasons and was an irreplaceable weapon in Tom Brady‘s arsenal.

Many on NFL Twitter also pointed out the same thing when calling out Shannon Sharpe for having a bias regarding Kelce. However, there were also some who agreed with Sharpe regarding his assessment. Take a look at some of the most interesting comments down below.

Although Travis Kelce isn’t the greatest TE of all time currently, his exceptional performance every season is bound to get him there. Until then the talented TE just needs to work hard.
