NFL legend Tom Brady staged yet another comeback win in his elite career as the Bucs QB led his team to an OT win over the Cardinals. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Arizona Cardinals 19-16 in OT despite trailing 6-16 at one point in the fourth quarter. With this win, the Bucs are just one game away from making it to the playoffs by winning the NFC South division.
Brady, like most of the season, didn’t look like his usual self at all and played terrible football. It was once again the Bucs’ defense that kept them in the game and at the end, Brady was able to execute a well-curated drive in OT to win it for Tampa Bay. The Bucs’ defense stopped the Cardinals on their opening possession before Brady connected on six straight passes to move the ball inside the 20-yard line, resulting in a victory for the Bucs.
The 45-year-old looked out of touch for the first three quarters but kept his cool to curate a well-orchestrated drive in OT. He completed 32 of 48 passes for 281 yards in the game, with a touchdown to rookie running back Rachaad White in the fourth quarter.
Interestingly, he had two interceptions in the game and this is the 3rd consecutive game where this is happening. This is just the second time in his career that he has thrown at least two interceptions in three-straight games with the first coming almost two decades back in 2002 while playing for the New England Patriots.
Fans react to Tom Brady leading the Bucs to an OT win
NFL fans on social media were not particularly happy with the way Brady played, despite him leading the game-winning drive. Fans argued that Brady shouldn’t have let the game go into OT in the first place and termed him ‘washed’ for his series of inconsistent performances. They even said that he won’t even be able to perform against the Carolina Panthers, who are 6-9 for the season.
The Bucs are now 7-8 for the season and need can seal the division by beating divisional rivals, Carolina Panthers in the coming week. In the last game of the regular season, they will face the Falcons.
