The Miami Dolphins have added depth to their receiving core by adding the former Carolina Panthers wide receiver Chosen Anderson, previously known as Robbie Anderson, to a one-year deal.
The Dolphins are loading up this off-season. They recently traded for the former Los Angeles Rams defensive back Jalen Ramsey and now they have signed a veteran wide receiver Chosen Anderson to go with their 2 premium pass catchers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Besides, they also added another speedster Braxton Berrios in the 2023 free agency.
This new addition of the 29-year-old wide receivers makes the Dolphins’ receiving core one of the scariest groups in the entire league. Anderson shared the news on Instagram with the caption “I’m coming home,” and tagged the official Dolphins account. The 8-year NFL veteran attended high school in Plantation, Florida, and looks like he’s excited for a fresh start in Miami.
Anderson was signed by the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2016 and played for 4 seasons with them. He then signed a 2-year deal worth up to $20 million with the Carolina Panthers in 2020 and so far has enjoyed a relatively successful career for an undrafted player.
Social media reacts to the Dolphins adding WR Chosen Anderson
The Miami Dolphins adding another wide receiver by signing Chosen Anderson did not sit well with the fans on social media, especially since he’s coming off of the worst season yet of his 8-year-long NFL career.
Anderson was brutally trolled by NFL fans on social media after the signing news broke out. Furthermore, his recently changed name Chosen Anderson also became the main topic for discussion.
During his 8-year-long career so far, the 6’3″ wide receiver has caught 375 passes for 4956 yards and 29 touchdowns. His best season came during his first season with the Panthers in 2020, when he caught 95 passes for 1096 yards. That was the only 1000+ receiving yards season in his career.
The talented wide receiver was traded to Arizona Cardinals in the 2020 mid-season. And now, the free-agent receiver will try to help the Miami-based franchise in its quest to win a Super Bowl ring. Since he’ll be playing behind 2 of the best receivers in the league currently, Anderson has a shot at reviving his declining career and that might lead to him making some bank in the future.
