The Cincinnati Bengals have made it to the divisional round of the playoffs. The Bengals can’t take full credit for the victory, seeing as how the Ravens consistently messed up plays that should’ve ended in the endzone. It really was a lucky night for Cincinnati!

The Ravens were successful in tying the score in the fourth quarter, but they lost that to Cincinnati native Sam Hubbard’s historic touchdown that tipped the scales back in the Bengals’ favor. After linebackers Logan Wilson and Germaine Pratt got quarterback Tyler Huntley to lose the ball from his grips short of Cincinnati’s goal line, Hubbard scooped the ball and made a 98-yard return touchdown.

Both offense and defense didn’t dominate in the game but did make crucial plays when the time came which guaranteed the Bengals’ win. Joe Burrow didn’t obliterate the Ravens’ defense like he did last year but did complete 23-of-32 passes for 209 yards, one touchdown, and no turnovers.

Hats off to Baltimore Ravens for giving the defending AFC Champions a run for their money without former NFL MVP Lamar Jackson. The Ravens had almost tied the game in the final few seconds of the game. With eight seconds left on the clock, Tyler Huntley threw a Hail Mary in the endzone hoping one of his receivers might catch it for a touchdown.

After bouncing off the number of bodies in the air, the ball bounced off and touched the hands of Ravens wideout James Proche, who couldn’t haul in the winning score. Proche wasn’t quick to react and reached the ball too late and it slipped away from him. This really wasn’t Baltimore’s night. The Cincinnati Bengals won the game by very very close calls and on sheer luck.

Fans felt the same way after seeing the play and potential victory slip away from the Ravens’ hands.

Who’s to say that the Ravens would’ve won in overtime had James Proche caught the Hail Mary? Maybe the Bengals would’ve won in OT. Anyways, that doesn’t matter because Proche didn’t catch the Mary and the Bengals advanced to the divisional round.
