Cam Newton is currently a free agent QB who once was a shining star in the NFL. The 34-year-old was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in 2011 and displayed great flair and skill.
Newton holds several records in the NFL and was once considered the best in the league. Recently, Twitter engaged in a conversation regarding Newton’s eligibility for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Although the former Panthers QB holds many records, including being the NFL leader in career quarterback rushing touchdowns and second in career quarterback rushing yards. There were many who didn’t believe that Newton deserved a spot on the prestigious list.
For starters, Newton has never won a Super Bowl and has never had back-to-back winning seasons. Many on Twitter even suggested that he was just a good QB on an average team. Cam Newton has also thrown many interceptions in his career that have cost his team dearly. Still, he was a decent QB who was very good during his time.
Currently, the 34-year-old is struggling to sign for any NFL team. Sadly, the probability of that happening is quite low, and maybe Cam Newton should bid farewell to his time in the league.

Cam Newton was savagely dismissed as a contender for the Hall of Fame

Many on NFL Twitter believe that the Hall of Fame is reserved for those players who were the best in their position for several years of their career, and Cam Newton isn’t that.
Cam Newton’s net worth is $75 million and his reign lasted for a single season or two seasons. After that, the former Patriots QB struggled with consistency and was even cut off from his team. Still, social media respected his achievements and called him a very good QB.
However, greatness is reserved for a select few, and Cam Newton may not make the cut. Many on NFL Twitter agreed that the Hall of Fame is an exclusive place reserved for the ‘best of the best’. Newton had just one ‘great’ season in his career, and after that, he was pretty average for his team.
Sharing a wide spectrum of reactions online, here’s what fans have to say:
Cam Newton suffered a shoulder injury in 2018, and since then, he has had a short stint with the Panthers. Currently, the QB is trying to sign with an NFL team as a free agent.
