“That was a horrible call,” NFL Twitter divided over the referees for their questionable officiating in the Eagles-Commanders game

The Philadelphia Eagles had to bid farewell to their miraculous unbeaten run when they lost to the Washington Commanders in one of the most controversial games of the season.
The game was expected to be a one-sided affair as the Eagles looked very strong on paper, but the Commanders had more fight in them.
The Eagles were supposedly dealt the wrong hand as some of the decisions taken by the referees were really controversial and made the fans question their credibility.
The plethora of controversial calls started when Eagles Jalen Hurts was overlooked for a facemask penalty and the game was allowed to go on which led to a change in the momentum of the game.
The Eagles were still confident and were trying their best to get the game back, but another controversial call laid waste to all their hopes.
With under two minutes left on the clock, the Eagles were trying to get the ball back. The Commanders QB Taylor Heinicke then moved behind the line of scrimmage, dragging the Eagles defender with him, who made more than enough contact for roughing the passer penalty.
The Commanders then went on to win the game with a score of 32-21. The Eagles were furious and immensely criticized the referees for poor officiating.
NFL Twitter had mixed reactions towards the controversial late calls by the referees in the Eagles-Commanders game

The Eagles were salty about the whole incident as their 8 game’s unbeaten run had come to an end against a team who is dead last in their division. Eagles’ fans on NFL Twitter were furious and called out the referees for their officiating while the Commanders fans were enjoying amidst the chaos.
