“Knocked him on his butt”: Twitter goes crazy as Amari Rodgers gets bodied by own teammate Rashan Gary

The 2022 NFL preseason is up and running and we have already witnessed some top-notch action. Although the preseason is not expected to treat us with the kind of action we expect during the season games, what we all witnessed during the 49ers versus Packers encounter will be remembered by fans for quite some time.

The Green Bay-based franchise had it’s moments but couldn’t dominate the proceedings in any of the quarters. As a result, the 49ers cruised to a 28-21 win. While no one can deny that several star players were missing, which often is the case when preseason games are involved, it still adds to your confidence when you end up on the winning side.

During the first half of the contest, receiver Amari Rodgers showcased his brilliance and produced a 50-yard return towards his team’s sideline. Rashan Gray, the Green Bay edge rusher who wasn’t actually a part of the contest got too excited by Rodgers’ gameplay and in an attempt to celebrate with him, knocked Amari down to the ground.

I think the hardest hit came when he got to the sideline and Rashan Gary knocked him on his butt,” LaFleur jokingly said after the contest, as reported by Packerswire. Indeed, Amari did take quite a hit and we can’t really blame Rashan for the enthusiasm. Here’s how Twitteratis reacted to the incident.

All in all, Amari doing well is a great sign for the Packers who have lost a few important personnel ahead of the season. With 93 total yards on four touches, Amari showcased he can indeed deliver what the Packers expect from him. It will be interesting to see how he performs during the season.
