After months of speculation, free agent DeAndre Hopkins looks set to join the Tennessee Titans before the training camps begin. The 31-year-old is finalizing his move to the music city.
However, after playing cat and mouse for some time, the fans were predicting that Hopkins would eventually end up in New England. Many on the Patriots’ home turf even showed their support for the signing, like Matthew Judon.
Despite all of that, analysts such as Nick Wright claimed that it’s not in DeAndre Hopkins’ best interest to play for Bill Belichick and Co. Wright revealed that Hopkins should hold out for the Kansas City Chiefs if he wants to finally win a Super Bowl. Nevertheless, the South Carolina native is heading for Tennessee.
Hopkins’ move to the Titans was first reported by Atoz Sports Nashville’s Doug Kyed and later confirmed by the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The deal looks to be in the range of $26 million to $32 million for two years.

Fans not too thrilled with DeAndre Hopkins choosing Tennessee Titans over Kansas City Chiefs
While it’s music to the ears of the Titans faithful, those who wanted to see the former Cardinals man join a “championship-worthy” side are left disappointed. For that reason, a section of the fandom has ridiculed Hopkins’ move. Even celebrity parody accounts such as GordonZombay chimed in on the barrage.
The Arizona Cardinals were looking to trade DeAndre Hopkins since his salary cap hit dead money. However, due to the high wage demand from D-Hop, no team wanted to do business, so they turned to Wards Free Agency.
Tennessee, on the other hand, is coming off another forgetful season, narrowly missing out on a playoff opportunity. But they have done good business this offseason by signing promising quarterback Will Levis in the draft. However, the inside scoop is that veteran quarterback Ryan Tannehill will remain the starting center. With the signing of 11,298 career rushing yards man, Hopkins, the Titans are slowly but surely looking like a decent team on paper.
DeAndre Hopkins was one of the standout players in Arizona. He recorded 221 catches for 2,696 yards and 17 touchdowns in 35 games. Hopkins’ partnership with quarterback Kyler Murray brought the Cardinals a lot of joy last season. They cruised to a 10-2 record in the first half of 2021, but injuries to both of them hindered their near-perfect season. In 2022, the wide receiver missed six games after the authorities banned him for the use of performance-enhancing drugs. They finished the season with a 4-13 record.
