The biggest story of day 1 of the 2023 NFL Draft was the Kentucky QB Will Levis sliding out of the first round. However, his nightmare has finally come to an end since he was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the second round.

The Titans traded up to the 33rd overall pick to pick the highly touted Kentucky product, Will Levis. Tennessee general manager Ran Carthon gave up the 41st overall pick, 72nd overall pick, and a 2024 third-rounder to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for their 33rd overall pick and 81st overall pick.

Will Levis was once considered to be a No.1 overall pick in the 2023 Draft ahead of QBs like Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud, but in the end, he was drafted in the 2nd round. Levis has a strong arm and a prototypical build for an NFL quarterback. The 6’3″ QB was a 2-year starter for the Kentucky Wildcats, where he registered 5,233 passing yards, 43 touchdowns, and 23 interceptions in 24 games.

The 23-year-old’s draft stock went through the roof after the 2023 NFL Combine. However, there were some other quarterbacks that were simply better than him in this draft class. Besides, Levis’ second year as a starter in Kentucky was a down year for him due to injury problems. He could be a day 1 starter in the NFL, but now he will have time to sit behind and learn from the veteran QB Ryan Tannehill in Tennessee.

Will Levis is not so popular amongst NFL fans. His sudden rise on the draft boards and some late rumors that he might get picked 1st overall by the Carolina Panthers ahead of Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud made Levis a bad guy amongst football connoisseurs.

When the Kentucky QB kept sliding in the 1st round, people started to troll him on social media and his girlfriend Gia Duddy‘s disappointing reactions went viral on social media.

And now, when the Titans finally traded up to scoop him up in the 2nd round, NFL Twitter clowned the Tennessee-based football team for giving into hype and drafting Levis with a high second-round pick especially when they just drafted a QB in last year’s draft.

According to reports, the 2022 third-round pick QB Malik Willis has not impressed the coaching staff of the Titans and they are ready to move on from him. Nevertheless, Levis will now have to compete with Ryan Tannehill and Malik Willis to move up the depth chart.
