“Bring havoc on the trenches,” Twitter Reacts to Chargers DT Breiden Fehoko’s wholesome EMOTIONAL speech for making it into the 53-man roster
A day where hopes are dashed and hundreds of athletes are left with nothing to show for their months of labour, Cutdown Day may be the most difficult day on the NFL calendar. Breiden Fehoko has gone through it twice before, so he is fully aware of the agony that comes with being summoned into a coach’s office on the final day of the regular season and anticipating the unavoidable bad news that would follow.
Breiden Fehoko, an undrafted LSU graduate, failed to make the Chargers out of training camp in 2021 or the year before, so he has little cause for optimism this time around despite continuing to be a part of the practice squad and even being promoted to the active roster for a brief eight-game period late in the previous season. Hours before the Los Angeles Chargers would reveal their final 53-man roster, Breiden Fehoko tweeted the following, going into the game with little to no expectations.

Breiden Fehoko’s brother misunderstands his selection into the Chargers roster
After years of battling, Fehoko’s ambition was finally realized when the Los Angeles Chargers announced the 25-year-old as a member of their opening-week roster after cutting him the previous summer. Fehoko was able to take a breath for the first time in his career, but he didn’t take it for granted. He acknowledged that the previous few years had been an emotional rollercoaster and a difficult journey to relevance in a demanding sport that requires players to go to extremes both physically and mentally.
Simi, a second-year Cowboys receiver, originally misinterpreted his text and thought he had been released a third time. Simi started crying as it finally clicked. Fehoko, a 6’3″ defensive tackle from Honolulu, stated: “I texted [my brother] and said, ‘We’re going to be excellent. It’s amusing. He said, “Man, you’ll be good,” after reading it. You’ll be picked up by a group. No, no, no, I cried out. We’re going to be successful. He misread it. He was weeping when he called me.
No one can take away what his family felt on Tuesday, a shared moment of joy and relief after reaching the top of a mountain that, at times, seemed impossible to climb. Whether Fehoko develops into a star or spends his career as a fringe player forever bouncing between the taxi squad and active status.
