“He wants FOLKS to die,” Twitter Reacts to suggestions of having an 82-game season in the NFL

The NFL is one of the most highly sought-after sports in the world, and the league has seen its popularity grow exponentially over the past couple of decades not only in the USA but all over the world. A regular season in the NFL currently has 17 games for each franchise in the regular season, a move which was ratified in March 2020.

Before the 2020 season, teams used to play 16 games in the regular season. However, a new idea has been floated in terms of matches each team should play in the regular season. Fans on the internet have pointed out how the NFL season would be if the franchises had to play a whopping 82 games in the regular season, emulating the NBA basketball league.

Twitter Reacts to the possibility of having 82 games in the regular NFL season

In theory, it seems like a huge number of matches, and in reality, too, it would simply be humanely impossible for the players to play out 82 matches within a year. The prospect of playing 82 games would need at least 2 games being played every week, which would not give the players enough time to recuperate physically.

Given the fact the NFL is a much more physically tiring game than basketball, players generally would need a lot more time to recuperate, and the number of players in the reserve teams would have to increase by leaps and bounds if anything of this sort has to be implemented. The fact that these ploys all seem very dreamy is a distinct precursor as to why the theory would most probably never be put into practice.

Fans on Twitter let out their imagination while they pondered over the possibility of having an 82-game regular season. The top reactions are given below-
