The Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is arguably the best player at his position right now. Still, he is getting paid way less than some of the other prominent pass catchers in the NFL currently. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Kelce claimed that he knows he is being underpaid by the Chiefs but he still doesn’t want to leave the organization for one reason.

“My managers and agents love to tell me how underpaid I am,” Kelce told Tom Kludt of Vanity Fair. “Any time I talk about wanting more money, they’re just like, ‘Why don’t you go to the Chiefs and ask them?’”

The 4-time All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce further said that he feels like he is being taken advantage of, but he doesn’t want to leave Kansas City since he loves playing for the Chiefs.

“You see how much more money you could be making and, yeah, it hits you in the gut a little bit,” Kelce said. “It makes you think you’re being taken advantage of. I don’t know if I really pressed the gas if I would get what I’m quote-unquote worth. But I know I enjoy coming to that building every single day.”

The talented tight end loves the situation he is currently in, where he is competing for the Super Bowl title every season with the Chiefs. Kelce believes he would regret signing a big deal with some other team but couldn’t compete for the championship ring. In brief, Kelce knows that he is being underpaid by the Chiefs, but he is fine with it as long as they keep contending for the Lombardi Trophy.

Travis Kelce is one of the greatest pass-catching tight ends of this generation. Kelce has registered eight straight Pro Bowl seasons and has had seven consecutive 1000-plus receiving yards, which is not a small feat for a tight end.

The 8-time Pro Bowler has been a massive part of Kansas City’s dynasty along with their QB Patrick Mahomes. Kelce taking less money to stay with them is a big deal and could lead to them adding more trophies to their trophy cabinet.
