The Aaron Rodgers trade saga was the biggest storyline in the 2023 off-season. The Green Bay Packers traded their franchise quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets just ahead of the NFL Draft that concluded in June. Rodgers enjoyed his first few days in New York while hanging out with his new teammates and attending various sporting events but now he’s back on the grind.

The 10-time Pro Bowler Aaron Rodgers has now started training with his new team in the Big Apple and looks to lead his team to their first playoff appearance since 2010. Amidst this, NFL reporter Craig Carton has claimed that the New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick pursued Rodgers but was allegedly rejected by the 3-time league MVP signal-caller.

During a recent episode of The Carton Show, the long-time NFL reporter Craig Carton claimed that Rodgers was pursued by the Patriots’ head coach Bill Belichick during the off-season.

“The New England Patriots made an offer to the Green Bay Packers to get Aaron Rodgers,” Carton said Wednesday. “And when Aaron Rodgers heard it, his agent said no, we ain’t playing for New England, we want to be a Jet.”

It is unsure how much of this is true since Carton is the only one reporting it and there was no news of this happening during the off-season. It could be true since Belichick is known to be a menace when it comes to ruining the Jets’ moves but at this time the report of Rodgers rejecting the Patriots’ offer before choosing to be the starting QB of the NY Jets.

The Fox Sports reporter Craig Carton was bashed on social media for allegedly cooking up stories about the Patriots pursuing the 4-time All-Pro signal-caller Aaron Rodgers before he joined the Jets back in April. Check out some of the reactions below.

The Patriots have two young QBs Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe on a rookie deal in their roaster. Yes, the Pats HC Bill Belichick did have some issues with Jones in the last season but it’s highly unlikely Belichick would pursue a 39-year-old QB who is way past his prime. Belichick could have had some plans to ruin their division rival Jets’ plan to rope in the veteran QB.

If Rodgers rejecting Belichick’s offer is true then the ingenious head coach might have some extra motivation to beat the Jets when they face them 2 times in the upcoming season.
