Tom Brady pulled off a miraculous Super Bowl comeback against the Atlanta Falcons in the year 2017. It was the greatest comeback made by anyone in NFL history. The New England Patriots were down 28-3 against the Falcons before the second half. However, they were a different team altogether in the second half and Brady spearheaded the amazing comeback.
Although the comeback was legendary, it’s relevance in today’s time is rather less. Recently, META released a new app called ‘Threads’ to rival the infamous Twitter. The Patriots decided to get on the app and posted ’28-3′ referencing the aforementioned encounter.
This enraged many on social media who called out the Patriots organization for still riding on the victory that happened 6 years ago. Since then, the Patriots have won two additional Super Bowls but have been abysmal in the playoffs since the departure of the great Tom Brady.
Brady had a legendary game against the Falcons and threw for 466 yards while setting a Super Bowl record for completions and pass attempts. He spearheaded the greatest NFL comeback of all time.
However, people have already acknowledged the victory and now want to move on towards further success. NFL Twitter was completely bustling after this ‘thread’.
NFL Twitter brutally called out Tom Brady and the Patriots for their first thread
Tom Brady created an immeasurable legacy with the Patriots and cemented them as the greatest of all time. The New England-based team won 6 Super Bowls during his tenure and massively dominated in those two decades.
Sadly, that has not been the case recently as the Patriots even failed to make the playoffs last season. Amidst that, they posted about the 28-3 comeback on Threads.
This enraged many fans who called out the organization for reliving the victories of the past. NFL Twitter also slammed the team and made many jokes about them. However, there were also some who roasted the Falcons, indicating that the Atlanta-based team can never run away from this embarrassing defeat.
Following Tom Brady‘s departure, the Patriots started to slowly decline in performance. Currently, HC Bill Belichick is facing a possible termination if he fails to provide any results with his team in a tough division.
