“The refs are a joke” NFL Twitter viciously calls out the blatant missed calls by the referees during the Patriots-Jets game
The New England Patriots and New York Jets matchup in the NFL was a low-scoring game that the Patriots won in the dying minutes of the game. This was possible due to a punt return TD by Marcus Jones late in the game.
The game ended with a score of 10-3 and it was a battle between two solid defenses and a weak offense. Both the teams weren’t able to attack the ball and were just rolling in the mud throughout the game.
The performance by both the teams was sub-par and neither of them was actually challenging the win. In the end, the Patriots’ special team led by Jones got the points that acquired them the win.
Although, the most talked about moment of the game was poor officiating by the referees and most importantly the block in the back by the Patriots’ LB Mack Wilson.
With 25 seconds left on the clock, the Jets kicked the ball as far as they could. It landed in the hands of punt receiver Jones, the Patriots CB ran with the ball, and in the process of defending their player, Mack Wilson blocked a player while behind his back.
This particular kind of play usually calls for a penalty, but this time it was overlooked and the Patriots went on to win the game. People were furious and demanded serious action from the NFL.

NFL Twitter asked the league to investigate the referees officiating in the Patriots-Jets game
The missed penalty call by the referees helped the Patriots win the game as they scored a game-winning touchdown with 10 seconds left on the clock. NFL Twitter was furious and people started to demand serious action from the league.
Officiating disasters have started to become increasingly common this season and there needs to be an investigation regarding the credibility of the referees.
Twitter also called out the Patriots for their win and roasted the referees who were in charge of the game. Though there’s also the case of Jets fans being salty after a terrible win and crying on the internet.
The Patriots and Jets are currently struggling in their division with 3rd and 4th place respectively, while the Bills and the Dolphins are looking to fight for their division title.
