The NFL 2023-24 season has started with a lot of surprising events. Defending champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, and one of the favorites, the Cincinnati Bengals lost their opening encounters. However, the Miami Dolphins did not have the bad fortune to follow their paths, as the team provided a fabulous performance. Two of their finest players, Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill, set bars by providing their best.
On Sunday, the Dolphins beat the Los Angeles Chargers by a result of 36-34. In a close battle, both Tagovailoa and Hill were phenomenal. With the help of their efforts on the field, the Dolphins registered their first win this season. When the heavyweights suffered, the Dolphins became successful in clinching the win in week one.
After the win, Tyreek Hill attended the press conference. Answering the questions asked by the press, the player said that he feels that he can not be caught or covered by anyone in the leagues. He also asserted that the team is in better shape than the previous year.
“I always feel like nobody can guard me, you know as a competitor. If you ask anyone in our room you know they will say the same thing. I feel like that’s just a competitive mindset. I want the ball well that’s sounds like you know crazy um yeah but I feel no one can’t guard me,” he said.
“Oh man, everything was fluid this year. Last year, I was banking on my speed and just out running. This year, you know, I am backing a little bit on release moves. Just you know the routes at the top and stuff like.. That’s how, that’s how I had the first catch,” Hill added.
Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill brought their A game against Chargers
Tua Tagovailoa suffered a major concussion after week 17 last season. He was absent from the practice sessions since then. The match against the Chargers was the return on the field and he stunned everyone with his performance. He had 28-of-45 passing for 466 yards. In addition to this, he also registered three touchdowns and had a 110 QB rating.
On the other hand, Hill shocked everyone with his receptions rate. He had 11 receptions in the game and covered more than 215 yards. Looks like Hill might just become the first player to cover 2000+ yards this season, the way he has promised himself.
Hill and Tagovailoa’s collective performance has triggered hope among fans. If the duo continues to perform like this, the fans can hope for Super Bowl glory for sure. The Dolphins are set to face the New England Patriots on September 17.
