Who says only watching films can help scout the weaknesses of players? When it comes to getting one up on his opponents, Tyreek Hill leaves no stone unturned. The wide receiver even dives into the virtual world of Madden to research and gain an edge.

The Miami Dolphins star playmaker revealed his secret weapon for getting the better of opposing players on Thursday. “I feel like Madden has a good tell of how good players are,” Tyreek Hill told the reporters after the Dolphins finished training for the day. “I just play Madden the night before, and look at all their ratings.”

Playing video games is a nice pastime and also provides the necessary entertainment after a grueling day of practice. Several players are known to be closet gamers and stream on platforms such as Twitch. However, using Madden for research is something entirely new.

“I go to the EA rosters, scroll down, and see what their awareness, speed, and strength are,” Hill added. “That’s how I get a good tell on them.”

It seemed to be working for the 29-year-old, as he recorded the best season of his career in 2022. Hill terrorized the cornerbacks the entire year. He rushed for 1,710 yards and seven touchdowns on 119 receptions. Now that his secret is out, will it affect his 2000-yard goal for next season?

There are only a few weeks left until the greatest show on US soil begins. The NFL is bound to light some firecrackers this year, with several teams vying for Super Bowl glory. The Miami Dolphins are one of the bookmakers’ favorites to be in the mix if quarterback Tua Tagovailoa manages to keep himself fit.

The Florida franchise will need a strong start to the season. Maybe Tyreek Hill’s Madden research will come in handy. The Dolphins will face a stern task from the likes of the Los Angeles Chargers, the New England Patriots, and the Denver Broncos in the first few matchdays. Although fantasy football experts will keep Hill and Co. ahead of their opponents, a little edge never hurts anybody.

Speaking of Madden, Hill is one of the top players in the NFL video game. With an overall score of 98, ‘Cheetah’ comes in second behind Minnesota Vikings Justin Jefferson. The Pro Bowler, however, is the fastest player one can add to their team, with 99 overall speed.
