Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill had a strong opinion on the Philadelphia Eagles using their infamous ‘Tush-Push’ play against them in their 31-17 defeat. Hill praised the move in which the Phillies have gained so much success in recent times and called it almost ‘unstoppable.’

But what is the ‘Tush-Push’ or more quaintly named ‘Brotherly Shove’? For those who are not up to date with the world of gridiron, this move is merely a quarterback sneak. It is usually applied on either a third or fourth down when the line of scrimmage is close to the 1-yard line or when the snap is taken near the red zone for a touchdown. The play starts with the quarterback lining up just behind the center for the snap. Once the ball is live, the quarterback powers his way through and reaches for glory.

The Eagles used the method four times against the Dolphins on Monday night. Three times, they converted for first downs, and once they snuck a touchdown. Naturally, it played a significant part in their win and has been for the last few years.

However, there’s also a downside to the play. Because so many players queue up and fight for the ball, the chance of someone getting injured increases on each occasion. San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy fell prey to one recently. However, Hill believes that the ‘tush-push’ is a smart move, and the main reason the Eagles are so successful with it is because of quarterback Jalen Hurts.

QB-sneak is one of those plays that they like, starting a new wave. It’s very unstoppable. I feel like with their All-Pro offensive line that they have, there's Jalen Hurts, who’s able to squat like 600 pounds. You have A.J. Brown and a tight end pushing you in the back. It’s hard to stop. I’m hoping that the league doesn’t stop it.

The 29-year-old on this said:

Tua is the franchise quarterback. He is our guy, the engine, and the one who makes this team go. Everybody knows that. Without him, we wouldn’t be where we are. He’s the guy who can make every pass on the field.

Tagovailoa has the best passer rating of any QB, with 110.4 in the NFL as per Statmuse. If Tua continues on the same trajectory, then he will become only the third player since 2000 to do it in back-to-back seasons. The other two are Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers.
