Looks like Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill might miss the game against the New England Patriots, scheduled in Week 8 of this season. Counted among the best wide receivers in the NFL, Hill is envisioned to break many pass-catching records this season, in 2023.
However, that might be held off for some time as the perennial Pro Bowler has endured injuries leading the way into Week 8. WR Hill did not appear for practice this Wednesday, as he is covering for a hip injury, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport. This was the first practice session this season that Hill had to miss and since Hill is a key part of Miami’s offensive, fans seem worried for their team in the game against the Patriots.

Though the chances for wide receiver Hill to return this week are very slim, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is assured that they will get him back eventually.
If we couldn’t have Tyreek, that’d be tough, but the show goes on, you gotta continue to play. Somewhere down the line, we're going to get Tyreek Hill back. You know it has to be one of those things, where you never let your foot over the grass, and you never lose.Tua Tagovailoa during press conference
With Hills’ dynamic speed and skill, he recorded 53 interceptions for 902 yards and seven scores in the first seven games of this season. Moving at a record-breaking pace, Hill makes the whole offense better and more coordinated. If he would not be there to back quarterback Tagovailoa, he might get knocked down a tier immediately. Hill asserted he wants to break the 2000-yard barrier this season and currently, he is at pace to do that.
What does Tyreek Hills’ injury mean for the Dolphins?
During the game against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 7, the Dolphins wide receiver sustained a hip injury. Before that, he seemed to move at an amazing pace making 11 catches and amassing 88 receiving yards and one touchdown. Though the Dolphins lost the game, Hill played well.

Recently, he missed his first training session with Miami while recovering from a hip injury. WR Hill’s injury has come at a very wrong time as a veteran pass catcher also joined Raheem Mostert for his ankle, and Jaylen Waddle for his back, in the treatment. The doctors ahead of Week 8 would monitor together these two closely.
Though fellow wide receivers could play in the place of Hill, it would be a risky thing for the team as Hill has shown immense productivity in the last seven games recording over 900 yards and seven touchdowns. And replacing him wouldn’t be easy.
Amid everything, Hill recently claimed that he will play against the Patriots. He said that all this fiasco was just to get his mom’s attention. Now this is upon interpretation whether Hill was joking about the same or if he has seriously recovered in time to play against the Patriots.
The Dolphins WR’s possible absence in the coming weeks could be quite hefty for the team as it would prove detrimental to their fortunes this season. But the good thing is, the WR Hills injury isn’t very severe, so he is likely to come back in the next couple of weeks or even Week 8.
