49ers legend Jerry Rice snubs Tyreek Hill off his top 5 all-time WR list

Tyreek Hill‘s injury last week that made him questionable in Week 16 has disheartened fans and fantasy managers because the wide receiver was having a historic season that one does not see happen often. He was on track to breaking Calvin Johnson‘s single-season receiving record and becoming the first WR in league history to surpass 2,000 yards during the regular season. This season alone has put his name in the conversation of the best wideouts to ever play this game.
But San Francisco 49ers legend Jerry Rice begs to differ. On his latest appearance on The Warner House Show, Rice put down the top five wide receivers to play in the NFL, and interestingly, snubbed Hill of his top 5 list.
Terrell Owens, Randy Moss, Chris Carter. That's four because I'm one. Megatron (Calvin Johnson is five).Jerry Rice
He put the greatest receivers from each era and from the 2010s. It is Calvin Johnson that Rice sees to be the greatest wideout. That is not shocking at all. Johnson is one of the most dominant receivers to ever play the game. His strength and speed combined with his athleticism make him a nightmare for defensive backs to guard.
Jerry Rice did not mention Tyreek Hill in the top-5 wide receiver’s conversation
Johnson’s 1964-yard receiving season in 2012 also happens to be the milestone Tyreek Hill is chasing, therefore Rice’s message is clear- you cannot be in the conversation for the top wideouts if there is someone ahead of you.
However, on Hill’s part as well, he too had snubbed the San Fran legend on his list some months back. In his appearance on the NFL Network, Tyreek Hill excluded Jerry Rice from his top 5 WRs list while claiming Rice wasn’t in the sweet spot for him to observe.
Hill still leads the NFL in receiving yards this season with 1,542. In his best season, he put up 1,710 yards. That is more than Terrell Owens’, Randy Moss, and Chris Carter’s best seasons in the NFL. However, Jerry Rice has the edge over Hill in this stat as he put up 1,848 yards in his best season which was 1995.
Hill still has two games to go this season. He will need two insane games to beat the 2,000-yard record but he can beat his own best season record of 1,710 yards. His status for this week remains questionable at the moment and he has missed practice as well, so it does remain to be seen how things play out for Hill and the Dolphins.
