Tyreek Hill had to leave the Miami Dolphins practice on Wednesday early as shocking news came from his house in Southwest Ranches. According to Julian Quintana of WSVN 7 News, Miami Hill’s house caught fire.
Tyreek has been in communication with his family. Everyone is out of the house and safe at this time.as per Quintana of 7 News
Davie Fire Rescue units arrived at the spot at 2 p.m. Hill’s wife, Keeta Vacarro, was safely evacuated before the fire could spread quickly. A cloud of smoke engulfed the house, and firefighters were on the roof, and they were trying their level best to put it out before it did any significant damage.
While there’s speculation about whether the All-Pro wide receiver will start Dophin’s last game or not, this unexpected news has soured the day for the Miami players. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa said,
I think that would be difficult for not just my teammates but for anyone in general to be going through what Tyreek is going through right now. The main thing is that his family is safe and his loved ones are good.
Hill bought the house in 2022 for $6.9 million, according to property records obtained by 7 News. It contains seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a basketball court, a pool, and a home theater.
Can Tyreek Hill break the 2000 receiving yards barrier?
According to CBS Sports, the 29-year-old, besides dealing with his house, has a slight tweak in his ankle. He did some light practice before riding back home to check on his wife.
However, the big question that most Tyreek Hill fans want answered is whether the eight-time Pro Bowler can become the first NFL receiver to touch 2000 yards. Despite missing a few games, he has 1717 yards in the ongoing season. There’s still one game left to go, and that’s at home against the AFC East rivals, the Buffalo Bills, on January 8.
For Hill to complete his goal, he has to record almost 250 yards, assuming he plays at all. There’s good news for Fin Nation fans. On 34 occasions in league history, a player has had at least 248 receiving yards in a game. There’s also the outrageous NFL record of 336 yards in a football game set by Flipper Anderson on November 26, 1989, while playing for the Rams against the Saints.
Hill recorded 269 yards in 2020, playing for the Kansas City Chiefs against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. So the cheetah can hit those numbers. But for him to focus on creating history, he and the Dolphins need to forget about the Baltimore Ravens thrashing just a few days ago. Former Detroit Lions star wide receiver Calvin Johnson had the most receiving yards in a season (1,964) in 2013.
