The Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill is currently one of the best wide receivers in the league. Last season, Hill had the best season of his career so far and had the second-highest receiving yards. This season, Hill claimed he’s aiming for more and is looking to break the single-season receiving yards record.
The All-Pro receiver is off to a great start in 2022, as he had one of the best games in his career on Sunday. During the Dolphins season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers, Hill had a historic performance as he caught 11 catches for 215 yards and 2 touchdowns. As a result, he helped his quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, and the Dolphins to defeat the Chargers.
Hill’s historic performance came just a few months after the wide receiver claimed that he is looking to break the single-season receiving yards record in 2023. The record is currently held by the Detroit Lions legend Calvin Johnson, who registered 1,964 yards back in 2012. In fact, Hill claimed he is not only looking to break that record but is also aiming to become the first wide receiver to register 2000-plus receiving yards season.
And he is off to a great start in his goal. Now, he needs to average 111.5 yards per game through the rest of the season to register 2,000 receiving yards. Hill certainly has the ability and the right crew around him to achieve his goal. If Hill and his QB Tagovailoa can stay healthy for the entire season, the wide receiver can certainly set a new record in the NFL.
Social media reacts to Tyreek Hill’s historical outing
Fans on social media, especially the Dolphins fans, were excited after Tyreek Hill’s remarkable performance against the Los Angeles-based franchise in week 1 of the 2023 regular season. Many believe Hill has set himself up well to break the single-season receiving yards record with this monstrous game. Check out some of the reactions below.
Nonetheless, Hill helped Tua and the Dolphins to secure a week 1 victory in a shootout against the Chargers. Now they will be looking to keep the momentum and secure a victory against their AFC East division rivals New England Patriots in a tough road game this Sunday. The Pats have a better defensive unit than the Chargers and it will be a tough task for Hill to keep his pace against them.
