Tyron Smith held down the Dallas Cowboys’ left tackle spot for 13 seasons with an All-Pro level of consistency. Smith was first-team All-Pro twice, second-team All-Pro on three occasions, and had eight Pro Bowl nods, along with being named to the NFL’s 2010 team of the decade.
With such experience under his belt, he left the Cowboys and decided to move to the Big Apple. He signed a one-year, $20 million deal with the New York Jets.

This is definitely a huge change for me. Everybody knows how the business goes.Tyron Smith said, per Jon Machota of The Athletic.
The 33-year-old offensive lineman signed an eight-year deal with the Cowboys in 2016. Before Smith moved to the Jets, Yahoo Sports reported that he wasn’t likely to return to Dallas for his 14th season.
For the way things were looking in Dallas, I knew it would most likely be the Jets.Smith said
He further added that he was not surprised by the Cowboys’ slow movement about an extension. After more than a decade of service, players can figure out when their time is up with the team.
[I am] not surprised at all. You just have to take it for what it's worth, and you end up where you need to be.Smith said
Tyron Smith wants to win the Super Bowl with the Jets
Despite being one of the best blockers in the league for so long, Smith has yet to add silverware to his mantlepiece. With the Dallas Cowboys, he has a postseason record of 3-6, never making it past the divisional qualifier round. However, he believes that can change while playing for the Jets.

I just feel like they have all the pieces together right now. I played against Aaron [Rodgers] throughout my career a couple times, and I know what he can do if you just give him a little bit of time.Smith said
He is part of the line overhaul for the Jets. They wouldn’t want a repeat of last season. On opening day, veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles, which ruled him out for the rest of the campaign. The Jets never managed to recover from the shock and finished with a 7-10 record, finishing third in the AFC East.
Besides, the Jets have also signed former Baltimore Ravens offensive guard John Simpson on a two-year, $12 million deal. Moreover, the Ravens traded for Ravens offensive tackle Morgan Moses as additional protection for Rodgers.
