The Dallas Cowboys fans are well known for cooking conspiracy theories, and this time they seemed to have taken a bit far as one claimed the Cowboys-Packers playoff game was fixed, otherwise the Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy wouldn’t have been talking to CeeDee Lamb, so early in the game.
Early in the game, receiver Lamb was spotted having a discussion with the head coach, by the cameras. Moments later, he was seen chit-chatting with the quarterback Dak Prescott on the sidelines, after a poor start against the Green Bay Packers.
In the first drive of the mega playoff clash, the Packers succeeded in scoring a touchdown at the AT&T Stadium, as running back Aaron Jones reached the end zone and opened the scoring. The Cowboys failed to hold onto the ball for long, despite having a home-field advantage.
Fans believe the incomplete short pass from Prescott to WR Lamb through the middle was on purpose and were also seen chit-chatting with each other as they walked off the field after the failed drive against the seventeenth-seeded Packers.
When the camera spotted McCarthy talking to the All-Pro wide receiver on the sideline, reporter Erin Andrews said it was quite unusual for the head coach to walk over to chat with the receiver and the NFL does not normally see that. And that became the basis of the Cowboys’ fans’ theory about the playoff game being fixed.
Fan reaction on the Cowboys-Packers game being fixed
A Cowboys fan recently pointed out how odd it was for the head coach McCarthy to talk to receiver Lamb on the sideline so early in the game. She claimed it was so early that it made her feel “nervous that something deeper was going on.”
Another fan supported her theory saying the All-Pro wide receiver didn’t wear any of his necklaces and his hair was plain as well. “He jumped late on his first ball. Almost looked like he got arrested the night before,” claimed the other fan. One Cowboys fan wrote, “People are saying this morning that Dak and CeeDee had weird communications early on.” Here are some of the other reactions:
Whatever the reason, fans are surely not happy seeing their team lose at this level, when there was hope for the Cowboys making the Super Bowl this season.
