The Baltimore Ravens star quarterback Lamar Jackson‘s future with the team is uncertain since both parties have been unable to reach a middle ground on a long-time contract extension. Even though the team is unable to decide how much money they wanna give to the dual-threat quarterback, the Buffalo Bills LB Von Miller, and the Ravens TE Mark Andrews believe that Jackson is worth more than the Packers franchise QB Aaron Rodgers.
Even in 2022, Jackson had to play under the fifth-year option and now it looks like he will be playing for the Ravens in a franchise tag rather than a long-term contract with guaranteed money. The fifth-year quarterback’s contract will be a huge topic in the upcoming NFL offseason and the Bills’ Von Miller and Mark Andrews had to give their two cents about the whole situation.
During a recent episode of Miller’s show The Voncast, Miller and Jackson’s no.1 target Mark Andrews urged the Ravens’ front office to pay Jackson what he’s worth, which according to them should be more than what the Packers QB Rodgers is getting paid. “[Jackson] does more than Aaron Rodgers … [Jackson] does everything and Aaron Rodgers is getting $50 million,” Miller said.
Mark Andrews believes the Ravens QB Lamar Jackson is special
Mark Andrews agreed with the Bills’ LB Von Miller about how the Ravens’ quarterback Lamar Jackson does more on the football field than the Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers.
“Oh my God, he does everything,” Andrews said of the former league MVP. “You’re speaking facts man. Everything you said is true man, he deserves it, he deserves more, man. He’s a fierce competitor. Every time he steps on that field he’s the one, man. He’s the guy, there’s no one like him.”
Andrews then went on to say that the Ravens also want Jackson on their team and he believes the front office will get a deal done soon. “So he’s a very special guy and I know he’s gonna get paid and I just hope that the deal gets done because I know the Ravens want to get the deal done. I think that he wants to be a Raven as well, so hopefully, both parties can get that done. You know how it is, though,” Andrews said.
Even though Andrews sounds confident, there are rumors around the league that Lamar Jackson and the Ravens are so much apart on the deal moneywise they want to get done. So it’s highly unlikely that there will be a long-term contract done between the two parties.
