Patrick Mahomes had words with his OC Eric Bieniemy during the Chiefs’ 20-17 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Mahomes didn’t seem happy.

Eric Bieniemy is one of the most highly sought-after coaches in the NFL primarily due to his work with the Chiefs offense with Patrick Mahomes as Quarterback. This dynamic duo has been quite successful together as they led the Chiefs to a Super Bowl win with Mahomes taking home the Super Bowl MVP and league MVP. The duo had what looked like a heated exchange at halftime during the game.

Patrick Mahomes had some words with Bieniemy after the OC decided to let the clock run out to go to halftime after the Chiefs ran on 2nd and 20 with 20 seconds to go. Mahomes wanted to run another play and that is where the disagreement stemmed. Mahomes seemed to have an argument with Bieniemy at the end of the 2nd quarter with Head Coach Andy Reid needing to intervene.

The Chiefs were leading 14-10 then but it was not as dominant of a lead as they usually have and eventually they lost the game. Maybe if they went for a 3rd TD as Mahomes wanted things would have been different but we can’t know for sure.

The thin margin of the lead in the 1st half was mainly the result of the Chiefs’ special teams as they had a disastrous showing and made multiple errors which were capitalized upon by the Colts.

The Chiefs will hope to have their Quarterback and OC on the same page as their next opponent another title favorite Tampa Bay Buccaneers led by Tom Brady who will also be looking to return to the winning ways after losing to the Green Bay Packers.
