Something that has never been seen before in the NFL happened in Saturday’s game, that Brock Purdy may have thought went unnoticed. But it did not, as it caught the attention of the media when the San Francisco 49ers quarterback wiped his hand dry on a towel right in the middle of the play. 

With just hands wet by the downpour through the game, the quarterback struggled to throw the ball against the opponents, the Green Bay Packers at Levi’s Stadium. He began the game with gloves but eventually took them off but that didn’t help him either.

As during the one drive in the fourth quarter, the MVP candidate actually had to wipe his hands after making a snap, while holding the ball in his one left hand. Then he quickly switched his hand to make a throw, but it ended up being incomplete.

Considering the 49ers occupying the best NFC team title after their utter dominance throughout the regular season, the odds were in their favor to dismantle the Packers little by little. Unfortunately, the game received an uninvited guest during the match, in the form of rain, which disfigured the Niners’ gameplay. 

Regardless of that, his team succeeded with a victory and made their second consecutive appearance in the NFC championship as the Niners’ star quarterback made a startling comeback late in the game. 

Brock Purdy revealed to be fed up by gloves, against the Packers

After the game, when reporters asked him about his throws that weren’t as precise as they normally are, Purdy had to address why he took off his gloves and why he struggled with his passes.

Purdy admitted in the post-game press conference:

Early on, you know, obviously I put on the gloves for the first drive. It was coming down and then it sprinkled so I took it off. I was still trying to figure out what I wanted to do and I was sort of fed up with the gloves..so just obviously..just thrown like I normally do. 
Brock Purdy said

The Niners’ QB acknowledged those instances from Saturday’s game when he was dropping back because the ball got wet from the grass which affected its accuracy.
