After the most embarrassing and lowest-scoring loss at 3-0 against the Minnesota Vikings, the Las Vegas Raiders made a phenomenal comeback with 63 points and destroyed the Los Angeles Chargers at 63-21. And it seems wide receiver Davante Adams is finally happy with his team’s dominating offensive play.
From the very first quarter, the Raiders made it clear that this time they weren’t going to have a scoring drought, as they took a whopping 21-0 lead. In that first quarter, quarterback Aidan O’Connell, who was sacked four times last week and also threw an interception, threw two touchdown passes. Meanwhile, star Davante Adams logged eight catches for 101 yards and one touchdown.
Raiders forced the opponents’ five turnovers, including three fumbles and a turnover on down while a pick-6, and reclaimed their scoring drives. As the team demolished the Chargers, a video of wideout Adams wobbling in joy with eyes closed and flipping his hair while sitting on the sidelines went viral on the internet via JP.
The Raiders didn’t allow the Chargers to score until the third quarter but then it was too long for them to even attempt any play. The Raiders were already in the lead at 42-0 by halftime, which is the largest halftime lead recorded by them in the franchise’s history.
The final two touchdowns sealed the victory for the Raiders on two turnovers by the Chargers: one on a 44-yard fumble return and another on a one-handed 16-yard pick-6. With this victory in week 15, the Raiders have improved to a 6-8 and snapped out of their three-game losing streak, while the Chargers have fallen to a 5-9.
Why was Davante Adams marked questionable for the game against the Chargers?
Before the Raiders redeemed themselves from last week’s 3-0 loss, their star wide receiver, Adams, was listed as questionable. It was after Adams did not practice on Wednesday, a day before the big game, and was sidelined due to an illness.
On Thursday morning, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafalo reported about Josh Jacobs being inactive, as he didn’t practice all week. They also mentioned that Adams missed out on the Wednesday practice session. It was quite a tough situation for the Raiders, as, without Jacobs, the offense had to entirely rely on Adams and the passing game.
However, right before the game, the receiver was cleared to play, and so he did. Although even if he was out of the game, it wouldn’t have been much of an issue, as the Raiders are all but out of the playoff spot after the terrible loss to the Vikings in Week 14.
