Josh Allen came into the 2023 NFL season as an MVP candidate and one of the most talented quarterbacks in the league. He is still talented, but his potential MVP campaign didn’t start well as he had a disastrous night against the New York Jets. Against the Jets, Allen threw three interceptions and fumbled the football once as the Buffalo Bills lost the game in overtime.
Allen was visibly frustrated during the game as nothing was going well for him. His no.1 target, Stefon Diggs was seen encouraging him after an unsuccessful drive. In a video that was posted on Twitter, Diggs and Allen did a high-five and Diggs then proceeded to put his hand around Allen’s head, encouraging him to keep going.
Allen and Diggs were reportedly at a crossroads after their embarrassing loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in last year’s Divisional Round of the playoffs. A video of Diggs being upset at Allen made rounds on social media. Throughout that game, Allen often failed to deliver the ball to Diggs, and Diggs voiced his frustration after the play.
The Bills came into the game as favorites, and were expected to win big once Jets’ QB Aaron Rodgers went down with an Achilles injury. However, the Jets rallied and won the game. Allen now has the most turnovers in the NFL since 2018 surpassing Jared Goff, with 84. He and the Bills will look to have a better outing against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.

Josh Allen admits turnovers a byproduct of ‘trying to force the ball’

Josh Allen had a terrible game against the New York Jets to begin the Buffalo Bills’ season. He had 3 picks and a fumble, which led to the Jets winning that game. The Jets had to play the game without starting QB Aaron Rodgers, who went down with an injury in the first quarter.
Allen after the game admitted that he was trying to force the ball to much. “Trying to force the ball,” He said about his turnovers. “Same s—, same place, different day.” Allen further took full responsibility for his team’s loss. “I hurt our team tonight. I cost our team tonight.”
The Bills will play the Las Vegas Raiders in their next game on Sunday. Allen will hope to bounce back from his horrific start to the season as the Bills will look to win their first game of the season.
