Argentine footballer and worldwide sports personality Lionel Messi is in the twilight days of his career. Widely regarded as the greatest footballer to have graced the ‘beautiful game’, he is all set to leave his mark in the Major League Soccer this time.
Messi made the move to Inter Miami CF in the summer transfer window ahead of the start of the new season. He was associated with French Ligue 1 club Paris Saint Germain before this and perhaps everyone knows of his exploits before that with Spanish giants FC Barcelona.
Having won the FIFA World Cup last year with the Argentine National Team in Qatar, Lionel Messi has achieved pretty much everything in football. His presence in the MLS will be a great boost to the league as it will attract the eyes of the world and will be extremely profitable for football in the States.

Tom Brady extends warm greeting to Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi was unveiled for the first time in front of Inter Miami fans on Monday night and he received quite the reception. His announcement was watched by over 3.5 billion fans across the world and surpassed the record previously held by Portuguese arch-nemesis Cristiano Ronaldo.
“I’m very much moved to be here in Miami, to be with you,” Messi said. “I want to thank you, all of you, on behalf of my family, for the kindness that you have given me. I can’t wait to start training to compete. I feel the same desire I’ve always had to compete, to really want to win and to help it (Miami) continue to grow.”
He was greeted by a host of celebrities as they all welcomed him to the country as well as to the MLS. Inter Miami posted a compilation of folks welcoming Lionel Messi to Miami – “To new beginnings. A special welcome for Leo to our city!”
Amongst those present was NFL legend and former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady. “Leo, I wanted to say congratulations on the big move to Miami,” said Brady. Other famous people include NBA star Steph Curry and American singer DJ Khaled.
