With the event being so memorable and having so much fanfare, it was important to provide insight into what the audience thought of the event. This information will help organizations plan their future events to increase viewership and engagement. The first step to providing insight into audience opinion was to determine how many people watched the Super Bowl in person and online.

According to FOX Sports, this year Super Bowl LVII was enduring enough to engage around 113 million eyes, making Kansas City’s win the third most-watched show of all time. This is the highest viewership since the New England Patriots‘ historic comeback win in the Super Bowl LV IN 2017.

To accurately determine the number of viewers, several methods were used. FOX Network was the first to release its report, which showed a total of 113 million viewers for the Super Bowl.

The Chiefs versus Eagles mega event, held at State Farm in Glendale, Arizona, has been the biggest bash in history. The viewership of the Super Bowl, however, was only slightly higher than compared to the Super Bowl LVI that occurred between the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals.

That Super Bowl was able to average 112.3 million viewers. The spectators were aware of Rihanna’s halftime show which added more bling and more viewership. According to FOX, Rihanna in the halftime show drew in around 118.7 million viewers who watched the show due to her magnetizing performance.

She ended the long 5-year wait and returned to the stage in a red hot dress attracting more viewers across TV and digital platforms. Rihanna’s performance was the second most watched Super Bowl halftime performance on record after Katy Perry and Left Shark performed in 2015.

Also, Super Bowl LVII is the most streamed game in history as per FOX with 7 million streams up, 18%over last year’s game. Despite being such a prestigious game that offers so much entertainment to the viewers, the viewership numbers are not quite close to Super Bowl XLIX in 2015 which collected 114.4 million record-breaking viewership.
