One of the top prospects of this year’s draft is cornerback Christian Gonzalez. This young gun is touted to be a first-round pick and one of the best cornerbacks in the draft class. He is also speculated to be a probable top-10 pick.

Christian Gonzalez was born on June 28, 2002, in Carrollton, Texas. He was a four-star recruit out of his high school where he played both cornerback and wide receiver.

Christian Gonzalez was a highly dominating player at his high school. He attended The Colony High School where he played on both sides of the scrimmage line as a cornerback and wide receiver. Gonzalez was a four-star prospect, and he initially committed to playing college ball at Purdue University but changed his mind and signed with the University of Colorado. After completing his sophomore year at Colorado, the star cornerback entered the transfer portal and played at the University of Oregon in 2022.

Along with being a star cornerback in college, Christian Gonzalez is majoring in Kinesiology. It is the study of “physiological, anatomical, biomechanical, pathological, neuropsychological principles and mechanisms of movement.” Kinesiology has applications in sports psychology, strength and conditioning along others.

The 20-year-old saw immediate playing time in his junior year at Colorado as he started all the games. He recorded 25 tackles and 5 pass deflections and had 53 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, and broke five passes in his sophomore year.

The 20-year-old had an even better season playing for the Oregon Ducks. He recorded 45 tackles, 7 pass breakups, and 3 interceptions and was named to the first-team All-Pac-12. Christian Gonzalez decided to let go of his remaining two years of eligibility and announced that he was entering the 2023 NFL. Christian Gonzalez’s parents are Hector and Temple Gonzalez.
