Former New York Jets linebacker, Darron Lee’s career in the National Football League seems to be over, and the footballer is currently facing criminal charges. The 28-year-old was arrested in April this year after being sensationally accused of domestic violence against his own mother and the mother of his own son.
According to various reports, Lee has failed to appear for a court hearing based on allegations from his mother, Candice and Lindsey McGlone, the mother of his son. McGlone stated during her statement to the police, that she heard Candice screaming from upstairs, and on inspecting the scene found her “lying on her back with Mr. Lee overtop of her with a raised fist.”
Candice also claimed that not only did Lee scream at her but also threw her onto the ground and punched her in the face, which resulted in severe injuries. However, this is not the only instance allegation against Lee, who was also violent against McGlone.

In a separate incident that occurred in October 2022, Lee ferociously attacked McGlone with a phone “which struck her head, causing her ear to bleed, grabbing her neck while punching the pillow beside her head, causing red marks to her neck,” a police report claimed as cited by reputed news outlet ABC6.
Lee suspected McGlone of cheating on him and also threatened to kill her and their son. She filed a complaint with the police against Lee, and he was eventually charged after the officials found evidence of a broken phone and images of McGlone’s injuries. The 28-year-old however, had denied hitting her with a phone although he acknowledged having slapped her in the face.
Reports however have failed to confirm whether he missed the hearing for the crime committed in April or in October. Nonetheless, his no-show will simply pile on to the existing legal pressure that he has faced since his arrest in April.
Lee was a first-round, overall 20th pick for the Jets during the 2016 NFL draft but his career went downhill after a few seasons at the franchise. The Jets eventually decided to release the linebacker, and he earned himself a trade to the Kansas City Chiefs, wherein he was a part of their Super Bowl success in 2019.
