Will Baker Mayfield replace Derek Carr at the Raiders?

Baker Mayfield has impressed so far at his short-term stint with the LA Rams. After being seriously disappointing with the Panthers, Mayfield was released from the team and was picked up by the Rams as a free agent in the mid of last season.
The former NFL first-round draft pick was a different player altogether with the Rams. Mayfield was hired by the Rams to fill in for the injured Matthew Stafford. However, his performance was equal to that of Stafford, if not better.
The Rams QB is soon going to be a free agent again as his short-term contract will be expiring. However, he won’t be an outcast anymore as he has interests from multiple teams who are in need of a quality QB.
One of those teams could be the Las Vegas Raiders, who have recently got rid of their starting QB Derek Carr due to consistent bad performances and will need to replace him before the next season starts.
Carr has signed for the Saints. This leaves the Raiders without a quality QB. However, they have many options, and Baker Mayfield and Jimmy Garoppolo are two of them.

The Raiders are in a precarious position currently as they had an abysmal season last year and will look to change that in the 2023 outing. The Las Vegas based team boast a great offense that can give the best teams a run for their money. However, a quality QB is highly critical and many analysts are unsure if Baker Mayfield can be the right choice for the Raiders.
Mike Florio from ProFootballtalk recently spoke about the same during the Rich Eisen Show and believes that Mayfield’s inconsistencies can turn out to be a problem for the Raiders who are looking at a long-term replacement.
Florio and Eisen both agree that Aaron Rodgers is a much better option for the Raiders who even have Davante Adams, one of the best WRs in the league at the Raiders. However, Rodgers is speculated to move to the Jets and the Raiders will have to find another QB to make do.
Baker Mayfield is a talented QB who’s having a turnaround in his career. Maybe a move to the Raiders can bring him back to his old glory or maybe it can falter his form even further who knows.
