The New England Patriots have cut Will Grier from their quarterback room as per sources. The team released its third-string QB, who remained inactive. Grier was signed by the team just two months back from the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad. He was the 100th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Will Grier’s departure leave the Patriots with Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe in the QB room, while the former is expected to start for the team, there is no guarantee as HC Bill Belichick likes to keep the public in the dark until the commencement of the game. The team’s performance against the Indianapolis Colts was just painful to watch.

Mac Jones did not play well. Some of his passes had fans cringing at the sight. Belichick ended up benching him for the rest of the night and played Bailey Zappe for the entirety of the game. This week, New England continued to give practice reps to both Jones and Zappe, the team’s game against the New York Giants on Sunday could be the first game in which Zappe starts this season.

Will Grier was not the problem in New England as per football fans

The team’s decision to part ways with Will Grier did not make sense for Patriots fans who have been growing impatient with this team. While the QB did not play a single snap for the team, fans criticized the team’s decision as they believed it was Belichick who deserved to get fired for what he turned the team into.

That is every Patriots’ fan right now.

New England has struggled this season and by the looks of it, they appear to be in full tanking mode. They are done for the season and a lot of tough calls will need to be made in the offseason to ensure this travesty does not repeat.
