There’s no question that Tyreek Hill is at the top of the food chain when it comes to describing an elite NFL wide receiver. But the 29-year-old has several sides to his over-the-top personality. Not only can he fire back at the critics and come to the aid of a teammate, but he can also be a decent prankster.
It was the international week for the Miami Dolphins, who flew off to Germany to play against Hill’s former side, the Kansas City Chiefs. The game was scheduled to be held at Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt, and the Super Bowl winner decided to take the opportunity to go out in public and have a little fun with the locals.
He had the brilliant idea of disguising himself with a massive wig and round shades like the ones in 1950s crime dramas. To top it off, he added a few extra touches of mustache and a pointy beard.
“I do not look like Tyreek now,” Hill said to the camera, and he went off to locate his first target. While on the streets, he came across a guy wearing a Chiefs hat and asked him:
Would you like to be part of the NFL page?
The man in the hat replied:
Sure, I will do it.
Hill brought out pictures of a few famous athletes and quizzed him about who they were. The first one was NBA legend Michael Jordan and LeBron James, whom the guy recognized instantly. One by one, he showed pictures of Olympic athlete Usain Bolt, seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady, and soccer stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Then came the pivotal moment. Hill showed him his own picture. The guy didn’t stutter for a second and guessed correctly. Then the Dolphins playmaker asked him what he liked most about the player in the picture.
He said:
I think he is a great athlete, just playing for the wrong team right now.
Hill threw in another question:
What would it mean if you had the chance to meet him right now?
He replied:
He's the number one player on my fantasy team, and I am very thankful to him.
That’s probably what the 7-time pro bowler wanted to hear as he took off his wig and revealed himself:
It's your fantasy dream, baby. It's your fantasy dream.
Tyreek Hill’s reunion with the Chiefs did not go according to plan
Before flying off to Europe, Hill had claimed that he would secure more than 200 yards against his former coach, Andy Reid. The two shared a warm moment prior to kickoff, but the tension was in the air because both teams were looking for a place in the playoffs.
During the game, Hill made a crucial fumble that ended in a 59-yard defensive touchdown for the Chiefs. However, upon closer inspection, fellow receiver Cedrick Wilson Jr. entered the frame. It appeared that the 27-year-old may have had a part in the loss of the ball too, which Hill later took a subtle dig at.
Tyreek Hill said in the recent episode of his ‘It Needed to Be Said’ podcast:
It’s a very touchy situation, man. I don’t point fingers at anyone. At the end of the day, I got to hold on to the ball. I don’t care if the man is not blocked. That’s my mindset.
Cheetah ended the game by failing to keep his promise. He finished the game with eight receptions for 62 yards. The dolphins are currently serving their byes. After that ends, they will welcome the Las Vegas Raiders to the Hard Rock Stadium.
