“No timetable”: Bengals HC Zac Taylor has no idea on Joe Burrow’s return from injury

Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals have had one heck of a season in 2021, a team that is usually not even expected to make the playoffs ended up going the distance and making the Super Bowl. The team has amazing young talent with Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and others. The hopes for fans this season are extremely high, as well as their young core, now has the necessary experience as well.

However, Cincinnati Bengals fans may have to end up waiting a bit longer than expected as their quarterback Joe Burrow recently underwent an emergency appendectomy earlier this week where he had to get his appendix removed. Without Joey B in the building, it is not the same and the cause for concern for the team is now that they do not know when their quarterback will be returning to the team’s facility.

The Bengals Head Coach Zac Taylor recently spoke to Kelsey Conway of the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Coach reaffirmed that there was no estimated timeline for Joe Burrow’s return to the NFL field, “I don’t have any timetable, we’re just trying to give him privacy, and I’m sure he’ll be back in when he’s ready.”

Once the quarterback is fit enough to join the team, he will have a transition period where his workload will gradually be increased. Head Coach Taylor had nothing to say on this, however, he does seem unsure of when Joe Burrow will join the team.

“That’s hard for me to predict right now, so I’ll just stay away from making that prediction,” the coach stated. The Bengals will be kicking their preseason off on the 13th of August against the Arizona Cardinals. Looking at the way things are, it may not be surprising if Joe Burrow does not start the team’s first preseason game.
