“SHOCKING”: Zach Wilson BENCHED ahead of the New York Jets Week 12 matchup against Chicago Bears
Zach Wilson
The troubles keep continuing for Zach Wilson as the quarterback who has recently been the subject of widespread criticism following his dismal game against the New England Patriots may have just lost his role as a starter. If not lost, his position as a starter is now in question.
Head Coach Robert Saleh has taken a decision to sit Zach Wilson out in the New York Jets Week 12 matchup against the Chicago Bears. Adam Schefter reported that the Jets players were informed of this decision at a team meeting.
This move comes in light of the quarterback’s failure to take accountability for the manner in which he played against New England. Wilson had just 77 yards in the game and in the press conference that followed, he denied feeling as though he has let the defense down.
Mike White will be starting at Zach Wilson’s place this Sunday:
In light of this incident, many are of the opinion that Zach Wilson may have lost the locker room and the trust of his teammates with these comments. Head Coach Robert Saleh was compelled to take some action as he risked losing the respect of his team if he let Zach Wilson get away with this.
It is due to all these factors that the New York Jets have decided to bench Zach Wilson in week 12 of the season. Mike White will be starting in the quarterback’s place. What is bizarre is that the benching comes in the week, the Jets will be playing against Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears.
Zach Wilson was picked over Justin Fields in the draft and now he will watch the game from the sidelines as another quarterback from his class will start on the opposite side. It is not clear if this decision taken by Saleh is just for one game or more, as of now, this is all that is available.
