“He’s never had to accept accountability”: Booger McFarland accuses Zach Wilson of being an entitled QB

Booger McFarland called out Zach Wilson for his attitude.
Zach Wilson is having a rough time as a quarterback in the NFL. The 23-year-old quarterback has been the subject of criticism after the New York Jets’ terrible loss to the New England Patriots. More than his terrible performance, the QB was criticized for his refusal to take accountability.
While the Jets defense went out there and did their thing, the offense fell apart. Wilson had just 77 yards in the game which was extremely underwhelming to say the least. Due to his performance, he has been benched in the Week 12 game in which the Jets will face the Chicago Bears.
Following the quarterback’s performance, fans and analysts did not hold back and criticized him for his immature attitude and behavior. Though he is a starting quarterback in the NFL, Wilson appears to be taking his role lightly and his leadership skills seem non-existent. In light of his struggles, Booger McFarland had this to say about the quarterback’s personality.
Booger McFarland believes Zach Wilson has never been held accountable:

Here’s what the analyst had to say, “Let’s understand who this young man is before we ask him to accept accountability, he’s a young man who grew up with a lot of money. I don’t think he has ever had to accept accountability. So now, on the biggest stage, we want this quarterback to accept accountability?”
He goes on to add, “We want this kid to be an adult in front of grown men and accept accountability. It may not feel good but… he let them down yesterday. If you’re Robert Saleh, you have to go to him and say, ‘Listen.. when you are a professional and you go out and perform the way you did, you have to accept accountability. That’s the only way that the men in the locker room are going to accept you.”
The analyst did not mince his words and there is truth to his statement. Zach Wilson is still developing as a leader, he will learn through his mistakes and experiences as he plays in the NFL. While he failed to perform as well in the game against the Patriots, if he had just accepted that he let the defense down, that would have sufficed. The New York Jets will play the Chicago Bears this Sunday and Mike White will be starting the game.
