WATCH: “Dumbest person on the planet” – Zach Wilson gets BASHED on social media for his choice of words despite ‘admitting’ his mistakes

Jets QB Zach Wilson isn’t enjoying life nowadays courtesy of his poor run on the football field and things just seem to get from bad to worse for him. The young quarterback was benched by the Jets a few weeks ago because of his poor performance. He was picked second overall in the draft but wasn’t delivering anywhere near to what was expected of him.
He was optimistic despite not starting for the team and luckily for him, he started for them again when Mike White was ruled out due to an injury. Once again, Wilson wasn’t able to cash in on this golden opportunity and his poor run continued on Thursday against the Jaguars too. He was very bad in the opening half and was even booed by the Jets fans.
He addressed this in the press-conference and didn’t blame the fans for booing him. He said that the Jets have a passionate fanbase and come to watch the team score touch downs. He accepted that the team is playing bad football and hence the fans have every right to be frustrated.
“I don’t blame them. We have a very passionate fanbase. They are here to watch us score touchdowns. We aren’t getting first downs, we’re not moving the ball, and we obviously can’t throw the ball. Of course, they are going to be frustrated,” he said.
Due to his poor performance, Wilson was benched and replaced by Chris Streveler in the third quarter after he completed 9 of 18 passes for 92 yards. Interestingly, his longest drive of the night was a mere 28 yards.
NFL Twitter slams Zach Wilson for his statements in the press conference

It looks like NFL fans have had enough of Wilson. They pounded on the fact that Wilson is bringing the team in while accepting his mistakes. He used ‘we’ instead of ‘I’ many times and it came of as if he wasn’t taking accountability of his own mistakes.
The Jets have now lost their last 4 games and are 7-8 for the season. They are currently 4th in the AFC East division and although they aren’t out of the playoff contention, their chances look very slim. In their remaining two games, they will face the Seahawks and the Dolphins.
