“Cougar hunting is easier than playing QB?” – Zach Wilson gets benched and booed by the Jets fans after yet another DREADFUL outing

Zach Wilson
Zach Wilson can’t catch a break and he has no one else but him to blame. The young quarterback is having an abysmal season for the New York Jets and it just keeps getting worse. A few weeks ago, he was replaced by Mike White as the team’s starting quarterback, but to the team’s dismay, White was ruled out due to injury and Wilson got a chance to start as QB again.
On Thursday night against the Jaguars, Wilson was so poor in the first half that he was benched and replaced by Chris Streveler, in the third quarter. Before getting benched, he completed 9 of 18 passes for 92 yards. He wasn’t able to throw the ball well and was struggling to cover yards. His longest drive of the night was a mere 28 yards, and even HC Robert Saleh was furious with his performance. “I’m just really disappointed about the display,” Saleh said.
Even the local Jets fans were amused by Wilson’s poor display. They booed him in the second quarter minutes before halftime, after which he was benched. When Wilson’s desperation pass at the end of the half was picked off, Jets’ fans were furious. Overall, in the first half on a rainy night in New York, the Jets had just three first downs and four rushing yards in the first half and, directly or indirectly, blame has to go to Wilson. The Jets, despite changing QBs, lost the game 3-19 to the Jaguars.
NFL Twitter reacts to Zach Wilson’s abysmal performance against the Jaguars

Fans on social media, especially the Jets fans, were not happy with Wilson’s performance at all and ruthlessly criticized him for his performance. They even doubted the Jets’ call to pick him in the first place. Many believed that we have seen the last of Wilson for the Jets and the team won’t go back to him despite Mike White’s absence. However, Robert Saleh believes that Wilson will play for the Jets again. “We haven’t seen the last of him,” he said after the game.
With a 7-8 record for the season, the Jets are currently 4th in the AFC East division but are still in contention for the playoffs. They have two very important games coming up next- against the Seahawks and the Dolphins.
