Just a couple of weeks ago, the New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers shocked everyone by flying to New York to support his teammates in their week 4 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Rodgers flew to NY a day before the game and surprised his teammates including QB Zach Wilson in the hotel. He also attended the team meeting and shared some advice with his team to take down the defending Super Bowl champions.

Rodgers also attended the games and stood on the Jets sidelines with crutches. And now, footage of the 39-year-old quarterback hugging Zach Wilson ahead of the game has gone viral on social media. In a brief video shared by a user named NYJetsTFMedia on the social media platform X, Wilson could be seen hugging Rodgers, who had crutches in one hand, and hugged Zach with his other.

Rodgers made the trip to New York in the middle of his aggressive rehab process. He was cleared by the doctors to fly just a day ahead of his trip. The 10-time Pro Bowler’s presence proved to make a difference as Wilson had a great outing against the Chiefs in that game.

Zach Wilson went on to ball against the tough Chiefs defense and had a great game. He completed 28 of his 39 pass attempts for 245 yards and 2 touchdowns. But the young quarterback could not get his team over the line against the Chiefs. The Jets suffered a 23-20 loss in a close game.

Aaron Rodgers has been a avid supporter of Zach Wilson

From the beginning of his tenure in New York, Aaron Rodgers has been an avid supporter of the Jets’ former second-overall pick Zach Wilson. During his time in the practice camp, Rodgers mentored Wilson and it showed in Wilson’s during the preseason games.

Even when legends like Joe Namath trashed Wilson for his poor outings in recent weeks, Rodgers made sure to back Wilson. Rodgers said that Wilson’s critics are ‘not helping the cause.’ It’s safe to say that the 4-time league MVP signal-caller has taken Wilson under his roof.

Nonetheless, after a good game against the Chiefs, Wilson again struggled against the Denver Broncos in week 5 but the Jets managed to win that game. Next, they will face the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles in their week 6 matchup on Sunday.
