Zach Wilson is one of the most highly touted quarterbacks coming out of college. He was drafted by the New York Jets as the 2nd overall pick back in 2021. Wilson was expected to be the franchise savior for the Jets but things didn’t pan out well for the BYU product. Amid being troll material among NFL fans, he’ll now back Aaron Rodgers in New York, and his mom, Lisa Wilson, is determined to not let the trolls off the hook easily.
Recently, Wilson played as the starting QB for the Jets in the NFL’s annual Hall of Fame game on Thursday. And, Zach’s mom Lisa Wilson attended the game among the fans to see her son taking center stage. It seems like some Jets fans disrespected Zach around his mother Lisa, and the super mom took it upon herself to call out the naysayers and defend her son.
She shared a photo on Instagram glancing back at a fan while sitting in the stands of Tom Benson Stadium in Canton, Ohio.“That would be me politely letting the dude behind me know I didn’t appreciate his comments,” Lisa wrote over the photo. She, however, did not reveal what the fan said that caused her to react like that.
Unlike most NFL moms, Lisa has never been afraid of calling out toxic fans while defending her son Zach Wilson. Apart from this story, Lisa also gave her opinion about drunk fans at sporting events. She called for a stop to alcohol sales at stadiums. “Unpopular Opinion…. They shouldn’t sell alcohol at football games,” she wrote in a separate post. “It brings out the d–k In everyone.”
Nonetheless, Zach was only in the game for a few plays but he managed to leave a good impression among NFL fans. Wilson threw a 57-yard bomb from the Jets‘ own endzone that impressed even the veteran QB Aaron Rodgers.

Zach Wilson is expected to sit behind and learn from Aaron Rodgers
The Jets’ former first-round pick Zach Wilson had a rough campaign last season that led the New York-based football team to shop for quarterbacks in the 2023 off-season.
They ended up acquiring veteran QB Aaron Rodgers in a blockbuster trade with the Green Bay Packers. Rodgers recently signed a contract extension with the Jets, also taking a massive pay cut in the process.
While Rodgers is hoping to lead the Jets to a Super Bowl victory in his remaining years, the 10-time Pro Bowler is also mentoring the Jets’ young QB Zach Wilson.
Wilson still has 2 years remaining in his rookie deal. When the Rodgers experiment is over, the Jets could pick up the 5th-year option of Wilson and give him another shot to prove his talents in the league.
