Flowers played in the Ravens’ preseason against the Washington Commanders. He scored a touchdown in that game but the Ravens failed to win the game and in the process had their preseason 24-game unbeaten streak broken at the hand of the Commanders.

Flowers was drafted in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He played his college football at Boston College and was picked by the Ravens in this year’s draft. Flowers was selected in the All-American third team. He will be expected to contribute to the Ravens’ offense this season. The Ravens open their season against the Houston Texans on September 10.

The Baltimore Ravens drafted wide receiver Zay Flowers out of Boston College with their first pick in this year’s draft. The rookie WR played in the Ravens’ preseason loss to the Washington Commanders and showed glimpses of his potential. He scored a touchdown on an electric run after the catch.

While introducing himself to his teammates, Flowers was asked to say his name and college before revealing his signing bonus. He had veteran WR and Super Bowl champion Odell Beckham Jr. rolling on the floor after the revelation. The rookie WR revealed his signing bonus to be $7 million and had the entire team in shock.

That’s quite a lot of money for a rookie, but the Ravens have showed their faith in the WR and will expect big things from him in the future. Beckham Jr. recently signed with the Ravens after spending the last couple of years with the Los Angeles Rams. He won the Super Bowl with the Rams in 2021. He will hope to win another one in Baltimore. He and Flowers can become a deadly duo for quarterback Lamar Jackson.
