“No way Daniel Jones is faster than Jalen Hurts”: NFL fans can’t wrap their heads around Madden 23 top 10 fastest QB rankings
Daniel Jones and Jalen Hurts
Ever since Madden 23 released its player ratings, NFL fans have been going bonkers over the strange rankings some players received. While fans are usually at each other’s throats debating which team or player is better than the other, they have held a consensus about Madden ratings.
Let’s talk about the wide receiver’s standings. Davante Adams topped the list with a 99 overall rating. On the other hand, Super Bowl LVI MVP and the receiving triple crown winner, Cooper Kupp was ranked 98 overall. While Adams is considered to be the best receiver in the league right now, Kupp beat him and showed everyone ‘he’ is the best but apparently, this didn’t impress the people over at EA SPORTS.
Daniel Jones has a 88 speed rating and stands higher than Jalen Hurts
Madden NFL released its rating for Quarterbacks Speed and it has caused quite an uproar among the fans. As expected, Baltimore Ravens QB and 2019 NFL MVP Lamar Jackson tops the list with a 96 rating. We have seen Jackson’s insane running ability on the field which has made him the leader among QB for rushing yards. Behind him stands the rising star in Arizona, Kyler Murray. Murray has a quick pair of legs that allow him to deflect pass rushers bolting toward him.
The rest of the list has Malik Willis (3), Justin Fields (4), Josh Allen (5), Bryce Perkins (6), Marcus Mariota (7), Desmond Ridder (8), Daniel Jones (9), and Jalen Hurts (10). Fans can’t believe that Madden had the audacity to rank New York Ginats’ Daniel Jones higher than Eagles’ Jalen Hurts. Jones came highly recommended which led him to be selected sixth overall in the 2019 NFL draft. But during his three-year stint with the Giants, he has lost double the games he has won. Coming to his speed, he ran a 4.72 40 at the Combine and he hasn’t delivered any wow moments with his speed that would allow Madden to rank him higher than Hurts other than his 80-yard run against the Eagles in 2020.
Jalen Hurts on the other hand was picked in the second round of the 2020 NFL draft by the Eagles. After a poor rookie season, Hurts bounced back his second year and led the Eagles to the postseason but were outed from the Super Bowl run by Tom Brady and the Buccaneers. Fans were visibly hurt to see the 23-year-old QB at the bottom of the table and that too below Jones. Hurts ran a 4.59 40 at the combine, faster than Jones. He also has more rushing yards and rushing TDs than the Giants’ starter. Moreover, we have seen Hurts being quick on his feet dodging defenders left and right. This is why people are confused as to what Madden was thinking before compiling the list.
