Odell Beckham Jr has had a massive change in fortunes after making the change of base from the Cleveland Browns to the Los Angeles Rams in the middle of the season. All of his struggles for the Browns are a thing of the past now, and it seems he has found a new lease of life with the Rams.
Beckham Jr’s incredible performances for the franchise has led them to a Super Bowl, where they will be taking on the Cincinnati Bengals this weekend for the marquee clash. However, the partnership might come to an end as his contract is all set to end at the end of the season and a number of franchises are on the lookout to seek the services of the star wide receiver.
Odell Beckham Jr is ready to take a hometown discount to extend his stay at Los Angeles Rams beyond his current contract
In wake of all those murmurs, Odell Beckham Jr has clarified his stance and is willing to take a hometown discount in order to stay put in Los Angeles. It would mean that Odell will have to sacrifice a fair share of his salary, but such has been the bond with his new teammates, he is ready to take the pay cut.
“Yeah, of course,” Odell Beckham Jr said with a chuckle and a smile when quizzed on his wishes of staying in Los Angeles despite the financial difficulties.
“Of course. I just really want to focus on winning this game because I feel like winning this game, everything else is gonna handle the rest. But this place, man, it feels good in my heart. It feels like a home,” said Beckham Jr on his time so far at the Los Angeles Rams.
“Everybody has told me that,” Beckham said. “Even watching me play, they’re like, ‘Great to see you win and catch passes and all that, but I see you having fun, I see that smile on your face, the joy that’s in your heart.’ That means everything to me because once you’re playing with that joy in your heart, man, only good things can happen.”
