NFL officials and Kansas City Chiefs catch strays from Wade Barrett at WWE Royal Rumble
The NFL Officials have become famous for all the wrong reasons and even former athletes from different sports like Wade Barrett, are taking dig at them for allegedly favoring Kansas City Chiefs.

For the last few years, football fans have called out the NFL officials for allegedly helping the rise of the Kansas City Chiefs as the best team in the NFL. Even those who aren’t associated with football seem to pose similar views about the state of refereeing in the league.
On Saturday, the WWE Royal Rumble was in full swing at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. Indiana’s favorite son Pat McAfee was at the announcer table alongside former WWE star Wade Barrett, covering the fights.
The tag team match between #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) and Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) (Two Out of Three Falls match) was in full swing but time and again the referee appeared to make questionable judgment calls.
I am not saying this is rigged. Stuff like that can happen with the official.

Barrett wasn’t so subtle with his dig. He compared the refereeing decisions at the #DIY bout with the officiating during Chiefs games.
Well I have not seen officiating this bad since the last Kansas City Chiefs game, but once again the advantage is back in the hands of DIY. They have played their cards perfectly.

McAfee seemed to agree with Barrett.
I love the greatness of the Chiefs but, even some of those calls, you know like ‘what’s going on?’.

Do the NFL officials favor the Chiefs? Patrick Mahomes doesn’t believe so
Ever since Patrick Mahomes entered his villain arch, football fans have complained about the officiating during Chiefs games. Former Cowboys quarterback and 3x Super Bowl winner Troy Aikman recently expressed concern.
Here you are promoting gambling. People are gambling more than they ever have before and those types of calls, there’s a lot at stake, regardless. But especially when you’re considering there’s a lot of money that’s changing hands with these calls as well, I think that we owe it to the fans that we get it right.

Another former quarterback, Robert Griffin III, claimed that NFL games aren’t rigged and the fans must accept that.
The NFL is not rigged or scripted. The NFL refs [officials] are not cheating to help the Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes win football games. So stop complaining and whining about it. At the end of the day, your favorite team just isn’t good enough.
Robert Griffin III said
Reporters asked Mahomes to express his views on the matter. The Super Bowl MVP echoed the same words as RG3.
I don’t feel that way… The referees are doing their best to call the game as fair and proper as best they can.

Regardless of how Mahomes and the big names in the media feel about the officiating in the NFL, it’s impossible to shut fans up. Barrett may be a former star wrestler, but he is also a football fan and his calling the NFL officials out in the presence of McAfee proves people keep tabs.
